I literally travel 1 hour from Manhattan just to get my eyebrows done here. Super painless and quick and the results last me 1 month! Most other threading places the hair grows back in 2 weeks. I don’t know what sorcery they’re doing here but it’s amazing. Ignore these reviews, this is the best threading spot in the city.
Hi! I got my brows done from Al Barkat Rose Beauty Salon, and I loved it! Sunita was the person that threaded my brows and she’s the one person that did my brows the best. I live in different state, and I told Sunita I would come back just for her to my brows! The prices are good too compared to the price i pay in the state I live in. My mom also loved how her brows looked as well. I love it honestly, and I will definitely get my brows done again when I go to NY again.
I only go here when I have to bcuz it gets the job done and is pretty affordable. I’m not happy to go nor would I recommend others to. I usually have to go home and do a once over myself to remove all the hair they missed. They’ve literally ruined one of my dresses by dropping wax on my shoulder. They’ve gotten wax on my actual head hair many times and it’s such a pain to remove it. They don’t make sure the wax is properly removed from my face when they’re done. The other reviews are right about them being rude and straight up not knowing what customer service is whereas if one of their friends comes in then they’re all giggles and give them priority skipping anyone that’s already waiting. Once when I went I literally waited more than an hour while they chit chatted and slowly worked on 2 women. Then their friend walked in, they put her in the third seat and went to her next. If anyone wants to get just their eyebrows done they’ll do them first bcuz it’s faster. And don’t get me started on the derogatory comments about your skin. And they’ll completely ignore you if you try explaining any preferences, precautions or skin concerns you need to make them aware of beforehand.
I’ve frequented Albarkat Rose for three years and they’ve always been fantastic. I’ve done facials, which are so relaxing and soothing—great for retexturing skin. My boyfriend and I get our eyebrows threaded also, he’s also threaded his beard. I’ve generally had a different lady thread my brows each time, but they have all been fantastic and incredibly detail oriented. They’re great about not threading too thin and making sure you’re happy with the result. The institution is cash only, but the prices are unbeatable!
Avoid this place! Terrible customer service. I came here to get my eye brows threaded today. I had a woman named Safia. She did my eye brows within two minutes and gave me really thin eye brows. I have never had such thin eye brows before! When I told her it was too thin she told me “it doesn’t look thin to me” and tried to defend herself. After rushing to do my eye brows she went back to doing a facial on her client which explain why she rushed through my eye brows. Just avoid this place or this woman at-least!
